Students will set up and use various networks, and will be introduced to basic networking through practical activities.This scheme of work is specifically targeted towards KS3 and KS4 Computing, although the first two lessons could be used at KS2. It has been developed in the context of the 2014 National Curriculum in England, but is not specific to that programme.
I’m building a robot that uses a RPi3. A dynamic ip makes it really hard to continually SSH into it to work on the robot. It’d be nice to have a static one so that I can leave the pi inside the robot while I work on it over the next month. By default, the Raspberry Pi will be given an IP automatically by the router (called Dynamic IP and denoted by DHCP) when you connect to a network. However, this can change whenever you remove the Pi from the network e.g.
So I have no clue what I'm doing wrong, but I've tried editing /etc/dhcpcd.conf and adding this at the end: interface eth0static ipaddress=192.168.1.10/24static routers=192.168.1.1static domainnameservers=192.168.1.1 8.8.8.8 4.2.2.1static domainsearch=yourlanstatic domainname=yourlanBut when I reboot, something weird happens. I'll run an nmap scan on my computer and I'll see 2 addresses. One of them is the dhcp address from the router and the other one is the static IP that I just set. What has me dumbfounded is that I can't ssh into the static IP that I just set. I can still access the dhcp address, though. I can try to connect to the static ip, but the terminal keeps reporting that the password is incorrect.Also, during the bootup, the pi says: My IP address is 192.168.1.10It also said that dhcpd and openvpn failed to startAny thoughts?.
